Alaska Housing Market Information

Annual Rental Market Survey

Provides information about the average cost of an apartment or single family home for selected areas. It includes number of bedrooms, vacancy rates and the percentage of rentals providing utilities.

The complete Annual Rental Market Survey reports from 1999 to present are available on the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation web site.

Housing Market Indicators (Quarterly Survey of Lenders)

Provides information about the average sales price for condominiums, single family homes, and multifamily residences for selected areas.

The complete Alaska Housing Market Indicator reports from fourth quarter 2003 to present are available on the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation web site.

Annual Construction Cost Survey

A survey conducted in selected communities throughout the state and Seattle. The survey simulates contractor pricing for a single family home package by tracking various building materials representing approximately 30 percent of the home's total cost.

All Annual Construction Cost Survey reports from 1999 to present are available on the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation web site.

Number of New Housing Units in Alaska

The Alaska new housing unit survey provides an overview of new residential housing structures in selected communities throughout the state. Local governments and housing agencies are surveyed quarterly to obtain numbers of new single family, multifamily, and mobile home units.
